Clean energy technologies such as CCHP, heat pump, industrial waste heat, terrestrial heat, storage of cold and heat, power storage and natural and distributed renewable energy are adopted for modern regional energy system, to provide services such as heat supply, cooling and power supply. Thanks to the flexible design and scale of regional energy system, it provides favorable conditions for development of renewable energy. This way, the energy system could shift to low-carbon energy. This is the ultimate development goal of many cities.
Given the incomplete use and control of renewable energy technologies, multi-energy regional energy system can be adopted to improve reliability of energy supply. In general, regional energy system plays a key role in conversion of the city’s energy system towards an effective, low-carbon, and highly adaptive one, and contributes to the ultimate goal of low-cost energy.
